Arson displaces Beaumont family

The American Red Cross has been called to assist a family following a fire in the Avenues area of Beaumont.

Shortly after 1 a.m, firefighters with Beaumont Fire Rescue were called to a home located at 985 Ave. B.  When firefighters arrived, they found a house with fire in one exterior wall.  the fire was spreading to the attic. 

A family of seven was able to escape without injury before firefighters arrived. 

Firefighters were able to quickly control the fire with minimal damage. 

A spokesperson said the fire appears to have been intentionally set on the exterior of the house. 

There is no suspect information at this time and the investigation is continuing.
