LU on ESPN3 and SLC Network in 2014

FRISCO, Texas – Lamar football will have two games televised during the 2014 season announced the Southland Conference Tuesday morning. The Cardinals will appear once on the Southland Television Network, and once on ESPN3. In addition to the two scheduled games, there is a possibility Lamar’s regular-season finale could be televised as the conference reserves the final week of the season as a “Wild Card Selection.”

Lamar’s first televised game will be part of the ESPN3 package. The network’s online platform has increased its coverage of Southland games this season, which includes Lamar Saturday, Nov. 1st, in a historic game. Lamar will be taking on conference newcomer Houston Baptist, which will be the first time the two teams have met on the gridiron.

The Cardinals will make their season debut on the Southland Network Saturday, Nov. 8 at Central Arkansas. The game against the Bears is slated to kickoff at 3 p.m. from Estes Stadium. It will be a rematch of one the more thrilling games of the 2013 season. Last season’s edition of the showdown between the Cardinals and the Bears was a back-and-forth affair that saw the game decided on the final drive.

The local Beaumont affiliate on the Southland Network is KUIL MyNetwork. KUIL can be located on Time Warner channel 15, or DirecTV channel 43.

The Cardinals kick off the 2014 season Saturday, Aug. 30, against Grambling State. The game against the Tigers is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from Provost Umphrey Stadium. Fans can order tickets through the Lamar Ticket Office, (409) 880-1715.
