Woman Dies after Hit and Run

Vidor, TEXAS – A Beaumont woman has died following an auto-pedestrian crash on Highway 12 Friday night.

Vidor police say Wanda Spoonmore, 71, was pronounced dead at Christus St. Elizabeth hospital.

Investigators are now searching for the driver who left the scene following the crash.

The deadly collision happened just after 9 p.m. Friday in the 1700 block of Highway 12.

Spoonmore reportedly had just left a Halloween venue with her grandchildren when she was struck by a mid-sized SUV or crossover vehicle.

Police say the suspect vehicle is white, silver or lightly colored. It is expected to have front-end damage.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible parties.
