The senior’s performance aided Lamar to their second victory over the Cowboys since the 2010 season. The win over McNeese helped secure the Cardinal’s first berth in the 2018 NCAA Division I Football Championship where they will take on University of Northern Iowa at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Their victory also marks the first time since the program’s return in the 2010 season where LU has defeated three ranked programs in the same year. Colbert piloted the offense to 21 points on nine completions and 148 yards passing. The senior constructed a victory for the Cardinals that stands as Lamar’s sixth consecutive win, the program’s longest winning streak since the 1972 season.
