puddin tane Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I think that Harrington's skin tone will be a problem for some people!! i think that is exactly FORMERWHATEVER'S problem for what its worth FORMER?, ..the kid was all state in 5A, district 13-5A offensive mvp, varsity track sprinter, engineering major... I think he has a bright future ahead of him..good luck to him Quote
BSFwins Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Another thing is I don't care if he runs a 4.4 forty someone will say he isn't fast enough....Believe me, that isn't the most import quality of a good RB. It may not be in the top 5. Quote
Guest LU 17 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Since Harrington came on campus, he has been making big plays. I remember during scrimmages he would break a run or catch a short pass and take the distance. The kid can play! Quote
LamarAlum Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Former RB, it appears that you are connected to PJ in some way based on your comments. I am sorry that things have not worked out the way you would have liked. It sounds like your intention is to get more playing time for PJ. Instead of badmouthing other players, you may get better results by helping pj through his last year of colllege. Very few athletes get to compete at the college level and he should be grateful for at least getting the opportunity. If you tell him he is getting screwed then in his mind he is. You, in effect, are undermining the positives that are the actual facts of his life. Life is about the journey bro. Make the best of what you have Sounds like everyone's jumping on Former RB but I did some research and it sounds like PJ was hurt so not sure if he knows him or not. Also Former RB sounds like he may have only saw the OSU game and missed Kade's performance against Bacone. All the kids are here to play football and are working hard. We don't want to run Former RB off but I would suggest you make it to some more games. Quote

However, why try to fix anything when it's not broken. The team is playing well this year (against its lesser and greater foes). We all have to assume that the coaches are putting the best players on the field to start the game while also regarding injuries. High school stats are just that: high school stats. A 6'3" running back in high school may have found success simply because the guys he was playing against could not bring him down. That's not ever going to be the case in college...even D-III or NAIA. We have to keep in mind that the guys they're playing against in high school are not always quality players. Quote
Guest papabear Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 It's not hard to find glowing reports on a kid from high school. Every kid playing college ball, even at the lower levels, was probably one of the best players on his high school team. I'm sure PJ is talented, but at 6'3 and 230 LB's it sounds like he outgrew the RB position. Or at least grew to a point where TE makes better sense. I attend several practices/scrimmages every year in the spring and summer and PJ never did anything that stood out to me. I wasn't necessarily looking foor him, but I wasn't looking for Kade Harrington either and he had at least one "holy shit!" play at every practice I've seen since he stepped on campus. All things considered he played well at OSU considering hoow outmatched we were as a team. Maybe, just maybe...PJ just hasn't performed well enough to prove to the coaches he deserves a bigger role. Hell, I hope he does. Athletic TE's are hell to deal with on any level. I'd like to see them use the TE more in the passing game, but they have done a little better job of that this year. Quote
