PreGame Tradition

So I was thinking and I can't recall Lamar doing any kind of pregame tradition aside from the walk across the bridge well before game time...but I wanna know what kind of activity you guys would think would liven the home field atmosphere. I can't remember if there is a certain song Lamar enters the field to (missed allof last season with a new baby) but I think turning that activity into an experience would be awesome. Something like AC/DC's Thunderstruck or Metallica's Enter Sandman to me are perfect...gives the players about 2 minutes to get down the ramp and has a beat that can get the blood flowing while getting the fans amped up...that's just my opinion...but what say you?

I agree winning will get the butts in the seats but it is a package deal for many and enhancing the atmosphere with some opening tradition would be great. Can't go wrong with some Metallica. The first year or two we had some thought into the game atmosphere but that seems to lacking in the past couple of years.

Lamar has and has always had a small time attitude. Why should we expect for that to change any time soon? We'll remain small time until the leaders of the school get some vision and attempt to become big time. We deserve better honestly. Beaumont, man.

Maybe do something with Ozzy Ozzbourne-Crazy Train... Guitar Riff that may live forever. Hear it at almost every sporting event... Do they play it already? I am drawing a blank.

Need to get the cheerleaders those big sling shots to shoot the free T-shirts higher up in the stands. They don't have strong enough arms to get it up to me and the kiddos. My daughter is like... Daddy get me one... and I am like well... I cant because nobody can throw the shirt that far. :) I am a few seats lower this year so maybe I will be able to snag one. :)

LSU does something extremely cool along the lines of what you guys are talking about. Here is how it went. As the players come out of the locker room and are about to head in the stadium the band creates a wall on each side. Then right as they come out the band goes... Baaa Ba Baaaa Bamp then everybody yells GEAUX Tigers!! and they do it again and again. And at that moment you can feel a chill come over your body and you know the players feel it as well. My thought is that as soon as our players walk out of the locker room toward the field, we have the band line up on each side and fans stacked on both sides and do the exact same thing. Except dont yell Geaux Tigers of course, but Goooooooo you Ravenous Meat Eating Redbirds or Gooooo Cardinals or something of the like. But the band will have to get a catchy and very stimulating sound that causes chills or just steal LSU's..... I think it would be cool and could be the start of a great tradition.

Instead of the overused Metallica, Ozzy, or AC/DC, what if we came out to a Tool or Nine Inch Nails song? "Stinkfist" by Tool has always been one of my favorites for this type of thing(excuse the song title; I didn't write it). They have quite a few others that are jam out for such an occasion, and their lyrics are usually rather ambiguous/clean.

I agree with the air raid siren but we do already have the cannon. I also wouldn't mind a train whistle. As for hip-hop, didn't parents in the 50's and 60's say the same thing about rock and roll? I don't particularly love hip-hop but if you were going through my IPod and phone you would find your fair share in there.

How about we start kicking some behind on the field and compete in this conference then the atmosphere will begin to get like it was during the opening season?!?! If we're winning they could blast Blues Clues on the sound system and people would go crazy.
