In The Cards:QB's Rotate, Players Motivated

Weather conditions will be better. So will the opponent.

Those factors should help coaches better evaluate quarterbacks Andre Bevil and Jeremy Johnson after Saturday’s game.

But Lamar coaches seem in no hurry to name a permanent starter.

This time, Bevil will start his second straight game.

“And I really do believe Jeremy is going to play some,” offensive coordinator Todd Whitten said. “How much? I don’t know. I think it’s going to be a matter of how we’re doing. I think for a few weeks it will remain like that. We’ll see.”

Marcus Jackson never saw the video until teammates told him about it.

Once he saw it, Saturday’s game could not come soon enough.

Many Lamar University football players draw motivation for the game at South Alabama from a highlight video posted on YouTube last year.

They first saw the video about a week after a shutout loss at home against the Jaguars.

They watched the video more this week as they prepared for the rematch in Mobile, Ala.

“It’s a lot of motivation for me,” Jackson said. “I hadn’t seen the video at first and a lot of my teammates came and told me about it.”

Among the first clips is of a former South Alabama defender delivering a hit so hard it jarred a football loose from Jackson’s grasp.

Notice how most of this video is our offense playing poorly, or their defense getting some big hits on us. They didn't do much on offense. Their line's are not going to have their way with us this year, their secondary and linebackers are going to have make more plays if they want to have success against us.

Can't WAIT!!!

I hope LU just blows their doors off. The best part of that video was seeing it finish.
