The public will not know who the Lamar starting quarterback is this week until the game starts Saturday, coach Ray Woodard said Thursday.

 

Woodard also said he will no longer publicly discuss injured players.

 

Woodard's plan is to keep everything in-house.

That's why he closed all practices to the public and has not allowed players to speak with media this week.

 

"I think other teams know way too much about us and we don't know a (expletive) thing about them," said Woodard, whose team plays 7 p.m. Saturday at home against Incarnate Word (1-1), a NCAA Division II team from San Antonio.

 

Incarnate Word coach Mike Santiago said Wednesday a depth chart sent to him by Lamar listed senior Andre Bevil as the starting quarterback.

Bevil started the first two games ahead of sophomore Doug Prewitt and redshirt freshman Jeremy Johnson. Prewitt played only in the first game and Johnson has played in both.
