JJWooten
I see. Thanks for clearing that up as I don't totally get all the quirks in the BCS system. My point, however, was that regardless of the fact that we have those two sub-DI games, this schedule is still better than I expected in our third year. I actually like the game against UL-L over La Tech. I think with those games (sub-DI) being ones the fans will get to watch wins in the home stadium, we will keep the fence-riders interested. I felt genuinely bad for Temple that year because those kids won the "required" number of games, but got snubbed out of a bowl game. The bowl system is a joke. BCS bowls do look at SOS (that's why Boise always had troubles), but the bowl system as a whole does not. I should have clarified that earlier. Guest CardAmbassador
I just realized that with the Hawaii game, taking the 12th game means no bye week for the Cards. Any concerns for you guys there? I know last year there were A LOT of key injuries on both sides of the ball. I wonder if the coaching staff and training facility is ready for a 12 week season so early on in the program. I was a bit worried and then I remembered we have two sub DI's, the game against McMurry is essentially a buy week. I think LU could sit any injured player in that game and still win by 40 points. McMurry is basically like Texas College. Langston isn't bad for a NAIA program but we could still rest people we needed to and win that game. They aren't a pushover like Texas College. They went 9-3 last year and have a very good offense.

I know who McMurry beat last year, I looked it up, they have some good wins against DII's but I still think we will blow them out regardless. I guess we will have to see. :)
BirdofParadise
While message boards are rampant with the news of the Cajuns and Cardinals doing battle on the gridiron, it should be pointed out regardless of the BE story, contracts for this game have not yet been signed. And until that happens, this is NOT official.

McNeese72
Am I the only one that thinks this schedule is absolutely awesome? Playing UL-L at their place to start it off is definitely a step up over TX College at home. Plus, a good second game opponent in PV A&M is great to see at Provost-Umphrey. Well done, Woodard & Co.! It is a pretty decent schedule, the Hawaii game helps get that extra game for the season. The NAIA team sucks, but it is what it is, at least you get an FCS school at home, albeit the SWAC, still DI. I'd imagine next year, you'd see 3 DI schools and only 1 sub-DI team. All in all, still a good schedule, not the best teams for home games, but it's whatever, PUS should have some great crowds for a good chunk of the season. It's nice that the SHSU/McNeese games alternate each season, so you'll always get at least one rival at home each year. Thanks for throwing us a bone, but I don't think we'll be rivals until we can actually compete with Sam. McNeese is another story. They're established, but both of their previous wins against us weren't incredibly convincing. So a 45-17 beating from a very mediocre McNeese team wasn't very convincing??? lu cards
i like the schedule.i wish we could do away with the non d-1 but its tough to get home games when your fcs.when do tickets go on sell for the ul-l game ???

Doc I didn't say "very mediocre". I will say that we were missing half of our starting lineup. Regardless, I was referring more to the game in Lake Chuck. Don't get butt hurt. The fact of the matter is that you didn't beat us as bad as Sam did. Our close proximity makes us more rivals than us and Sam.

Doc Actually no, did you go to the game? You guys pulled away very very late. Recall the score being 24-17 half way through the fourth quarter? Just because you picked off our 4th string QB twice and 1st string guy once in the span of 7 minutes (when our 4th string qb had a broken leg!) doesn't make that win convincing. It was much closer than the score told at the end of the game. Yes you won, the score looks like a blow out, but if we had just stopped throwing the ball in the 4th quarter it would have likely been a 1 TD difference in score by the end of the game. Guest LU4LIFE
Other than the two non D1 teams on the schedule it's not a bad schedule at all IMO.
LU1991
Its a better schedule than I was expecting. I'm already planning on the trip to ULL...it should be fun. I agree, the McNeese game was a lot closer than the score would suggest but they did beat a qb with a broken leg so we will let them savor in their win until we meet again! GeauxUL
Should be a fun one at Cajun Field. Should be a sell-out no doubt. How many fans should we expect LU to bring? It will be a sea of red in Lafayette!

GeauxUL
Lafayette does have a public transport system and various cabs that you can take. I personally have never used and cabs our the Lafayette public transport system but here are some links that should help you out: http://www.ridelts.com/ http://local.yahoo.com/LA/Lafayette/Travel+Lodging/Taxi+Services Let me know if you have any more question. We can't wait for LU to come to Cajun Field! It'll be a good one!

Why not just get a rental car for the day, drive over the night before, stay that night and the night after the game and drive back. Seems like it would be MUCH cheaper than a $320 with hotel stays (or friends)

I flew two years ago to watch Lamar's basketball at Texas Tech. My car has 150k miles on it, and I'm expecting to get to run it to the ground to around 200k or 250k (it's an '04 Acura, so that's not exorbitant).
