Mike Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 "I loved playing and it's tough to walk away but I'll still be involved with the team. I just can't risk my health suffering down the road from continuing to play football." former Lamar QB Doug Prewitt Quote
LU1991 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I hate to hear this. Prewitt was a great leader for he team. Hopefully he can continue his leadership from the sidelines. Quote
Guest bigred360 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 He'll be successful in whatever he does it the future. Like a few others stated, he would be one heck of a coach. However, he is a business major. Quote
Guest boomer Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Thanks to Mike for getting the quote and to Doug for taking the time to let us know. Great sucess in life to you Doug...thanks . Quote
DJLocal Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I know the same exact position Doug is in. I had racked up too many slight concussions in my middle to high school career that I had to stop but didn't want to leave the team. I found other ways to contribute besides being on the field. Quote
