Austin Card Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Basic decision skills are lacking with this coach. Example: They knew there was a good chance that they would get beat bad, but they still decided to joke around, make stupid press conference videos and wear bright red goofy shirts to the game, leaving themselves open for people to say they went for a vacation not business and did not take this seriously. I disagree with that opinion, but I still think it shows bad decision making and proves this guy may be an idiot and probably needs to go sooner than later. Quote
cardinal Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Defense still playing hard, thank goodness. Yep. Hey Moss, how about changing the snap count? Maybe an audible? And how in the world is sims one of the top running backs in the country? Quote

Austin Card Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Why is Moss still in the game. Why are they still letting Venson field kickoffs today. Man I'm not a negative person, but the decisions are killing me. The last thing we need right now is to have our QB hurt. Quote
Guest LU 17 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 2 points and it wasnt even a safety. We are terrible. We just gained 33 yards against the walk ons. Better put the 6th stringers back in to shut us down. The ass whipping SHSU is going to put on us will be worse. Quote
Guest LU 17 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Sims just made a good block against a blitzing walk on. He may be O- line material. Quote

After watch Scared akowski tonight, Berry should get the next start. Quote

And how in the world is sims one of the top running backs in the country? The problem lies on the offensive line, not moss and not sims. Whatever Whatever? When the ball was snapped Mossakowski literally had no time to do anything. A prime example to summarize what he was dealing with last night was the 2nd down play after Venson dropped the Hawaii kickoff at the 1-yard line. They ran a misdirection play action where the ball was suppost to go to the TE immediately after the fake. He fakes the toss right rolls left to find a Warrior right in his face and his TE was blanket covered. If he makes the throw its likely an INT in the endzone, and if he holds it an extra second to try and let the play develop it's a safety. So he dumps it right at the defenders feet and takes one of the hard 20 or so hits he took last night. He had a total of about two seconds to make that decision. With nothing working he still completed more than 50% of his passes and was sacked only 3 times. It obviously wasn't his best night back there but he was tough as hell getting the crap beat out of him and continuing to get up and play hard. Berry nor anyone else would've done any better under those conditions. As far as the running back situation when the ball was handed off they were normally hit by multiple Hawaii defenders behind the line of scrimmage. They did good to gain any positive yards on any of those attempts. The offensive line MUST play better if Lamar has any chance of being competitive against any decent opponent. Everyone is frustrated but to blame the QB and RB's with what they were dealing with last night just isn't fair. Quote
jettyman Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Jet lag, distractions, scheduling nightmare, 5 hr. time change, etc. There has been a multitude of quality football programs fall victim to the Rainbows unusual home field advantage. Although, everyone has their right to an opinion, based on the outcome I don't think this particular event is a relevant evaluation of our current state. Remember, 3 years ago we were in the mist of having nothing now we are expecting our program to compete with D1 schools. Not going to happen 10 years from now even if we resurrect Vince Lombardi and place a Cardinal hat on him. This weekend there were many D1AA schools that got their a_s handed to them by larger schools. Many Universities put large amounts of money in the coffers, instead we got a trip of a lifetime for many of these kids. At least, our players got the benefit of their years of sacrifice where the other athletes across the nation will never see a penny of those millions of dollars. By the way, ULL got a mud hole stomp in them by OSU but they made 1.2 mil. When playing larger schools the weak will always be exposed in the trenches . I know for a fact that the Oline is working their butts everyday to get better. The line is the engine that makes the train run and I feel confident they will get on track. In conclusion, it is easy to stand back and evaluate from a far but to be supportive and positive through adversity is not easy. I assure you, Jay “Cry Baby” Cutler regrets (maybe not him) the minute he pushed his Olineman. That action achieves nothing but animosity where a pat on the back and a whisper " get um next time" goes a whole lot farther. Those who are perfect cast stones, those who are not, support those who you were going to throw at. Quote
