Man Crashes Car into Church

Beaumont, Texas – A Beaumont Police Department spokesperson has released the name of a man who died following a Thursday morning accident.

The deceased is identified as Mark Anthony Brown, 25, of Beaumont.

The accident happened at 11th Street and Long Avenue around 4 a.m.

According to police on the scene, Brown was driving at a high rate of speed, failed to yield at a stop sign and ran into the Calder Baptist Church building.

The vehicle’s engine compartment caught fire after the collision.

Brown was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth where he was pronounced dead.
