LU Announces 2018 Football Schedule

Beaumont, Texas- The Lamar football team on Tuesday announced its full 2018 schedule, including an extra home game and a trip to Texas Tech.

Lamar will start its season with the first of six home games against Kentucky Christian. The Cardinals head to Lubbock the following week before starting Southland play against Northwestern State at home on Sept. 15.

“It is going to be a very challenging schedule, but I think this one sets up a little better for us,” Lamar coach Mike Schultz said. “We get to open up at home before heading to Texas Tech, but then we get to come home for two games — as a coach, you always like having that ability. The fact that we have six home games this season is nice. Last year we only had five dates at home.”

All September home games will start at 6 p.m. while home dates in October and November will kick off at 3 p.m.

Below is Lamar’s 2018 regular-season schedule:

Sept. 1: Kentucky Christian, 6 p.m.

Sept. 8: at Texas Tech, TBA

Sept 15: Northwestern  State, 6 p.m.

Sept. 22: Southeastern Louisiana, 6 p.m.

Sept. 29: at Nicholls, TBA

Oct. 13: Incarnate Word, 3 p.m.

Oct. 20: Sam Houston State, 3 p.m.

Oct. 27: at Stephen F. Austin, TBA

Nov. 3: at Central Arkansas, TBA

Nov. 10: Houston Baptist, 3 p.m.

Nov. 17: at McNeese TBA
