We hung 92 on them and got blasted by Sam for running up the score.

Just be ready for it on Sam's site :D

Ummm... I hate to tell you this but i would have blasted ya'll also. I hope to god that LU doesn't do that. Put in your third and fourth srting players and if you have to just kneel the ball and let the punter get some work but that's just wrong to hang 92 on any team.

I hope the powers that be have made some arrangements have some cooling fans and water stations. Last year was so hot and I don't think this year will be any different.

Please participate in College Colors Day 2011!!!

I wear something with Lamar everyday. I have noticed more people reacting, positively, when they see my Lamar shirt and cap or just my Cardinal on my cell phone case.

I have a feeling they will, after the first game last year M&D supply (which is owned by an LU alum) gave the students free access to their port-a-cools. I bet we have some connections to either pay for or get something similar donated. I would urge all not to let the heat keep you away from the game. The game has been pushed back to 7 p.m. and I'm fairly certain the school will learn from last year.

If you're feeling hot at tailgating stop by someones tailgating spot that has an RV. We're all Cardinals, they would probably let you cool off for a bit.

I checked weather.com the 10 day forecast isn't hitting the 3rd yet but here is some info:

Sept 1st:

High 97 F

Low 74 F

0% Precipitation

Sept 3rd History:

Avg High 90

Avg Low 72

Record High 103

Rocord Low 61

Weather.com link posted at the beginning of this thread.

I hope we're closer to the average than I expect. 90 would be better than 103!

I personally last year began to have problems with the heat, but was able to realize it and get some water and cool off. I did not anticipate the heat.

I think it would be better if everyone hydrate themselves before going to the game and keep hydrated during the game.

Your right the game starting later at 7pm will help.

Still no sign of the Steers roster any where.

BTW, How awful is it for your mascot to be a steer? I mean of all things that has to be the worst, I'm sure they get heckled pretty bad for their name in their conference.

Friday Sept 2nd Weather:

96 F

74 F

0% precipitation

One good thing to remember, with how dry it is at least there wont be the humidity to make it any worse.

In a meeting today the start time for Texas College on Sept. 3rd has been pushed back to 7:30 PM. It was pushed back due to the predicted record high temperatures and concern for the health of all attending the game.

http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082511aaa.html

The weather service is reporting 92 F. with 70% humidity. But they're also reporting that it will be overcast or there might be a chance of Thunder storms. Regardless 92 is better than the the record for that day which is 102.

People were going down left and right last year due to the heat. I don't blame them for move the game to a later time.

Is 30 minutes at 7:00 p.m. going to make a huge difference in temperatures? I'm not so sure it will. I think the people who have a risk of heat exhaustion are the tailgaters that are out and about at 2 p.m. etc.

Posted
You are probably right but by 7:30pm it should place most of the east side in the shade. The band had several taken out of the stands due to heat exhaustion last year.

Until the weather cools down the band is not playing for the tailgaters or anything extra before the games. They are only wearing band t-shirt with the uniform pants and ball cap. Last year it was the marching through the tailgaters in full uniform with all the hot BBQ pits going at 4:30 PM that wiped out many of the students. That mistake was very unfortunate.

There were also more than 40 spectators that were taken to the hospital that evening. The heat here in Southeast Texas can be unbearable if you are not used to the humidity plus hot temperatures. The 30 minute delay will help everyone. Just my 2 cents.

It's hard to believe we are really only 7 days away from the start of the season. It's kind of surreal.

SEPT 3rd Weather:

92°F

Precip

40%

Wind: From E at 9 mph

Humidity: 69%
