Guest Cardinalrule Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Seriously? Bacone? This is what we've become? Quote
Lamarcard81 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I believe we are playing Bacone because somebody pulled out on us at the last minute. Quote
coachacola Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I could be wrong but I think the AD wants 6 home games a year, so if that means 2 cupcakes a year then so be it. And the next game against Grambling could be just as bad, that team is a total disaster this year. But at least they're FCS. Quote
LUSportsFan Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Is Bacone the team we scheduled to replace Georgia State after they backed out of coming to Beaumont? Lamar 52 Bacone 14 Just a guess. Only thing I can see is that they are 2-1 so far. They received votes in the NAIA poll. Here's their schedule so far for anyone who might be familiar with the teams. Bacone 37 McPherson College (Kansas - NAIA) 31 (Overtime) Bacone 37 Northwestern (Iowa - NAIA) 55 Bacone 32 Southwestern (Georgetown, TX - NCAA DIII) 14 UCA defeated them 70-3 last year UTSA defeated them 54-7 in 2011 Nicholls defeated them 44-28 in 2010 Quote
BSFwins Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I bet Cardinalrule has something negative to say before, during and after the game. Well, look he has already started! lol Cazzy Francis is one of my best friends who played at Arkansas State. He was a two-time All-SLC WR and he went to training cramp with Tampa Bay. They lost in the finals of the then D1-AA National Championship. He is wondering when was the last time Lamar beat ASU? Brother was on the Quarterfinal team at McNeese. They are both public figures now so they can't join and comment but you have made them laugh!!! lol Oh yes, they both were HS coaches. I can't accurately tell you how CF's teams did but I can tell you the teams DWR coaches on NEVER missed the playoffs. Three teams he was with made it to the quarterfinals. The best know was the Chip Ambres lead Beaumont West Brook... Quote
LUSportsFan Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Looks like the last time we beat Arkansas State was in 1988 (21-17) in Jonesboro the year before we dropped football. So for us, that was about 5 seasons ago (dropped football in 1989 and brought it back in 2010). Last time we played Arkansas State, in 1989, we came out on the short end by 10 points. I think we were both D-1AA then. We both dropped down to D-1AA in the early '80's and Arkansas State had not made the move back up. Brings back memories. I liked playing Arkansas State in football and basketball. Back to this weekend's game, I'm looking forward to making the drive over to Beaumont and also for the four conference games after that. BSFwins Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I will be there with some relatives and friends. Wife's dad is the CEO of a major donor. Her step-sister is on the Lamar Dance team. Her finance' is a picture on the LU baseball team. So her parents enjoy the game from the Morgan Suites and we get at least 4 tickets to every game. Oh it's great to be around positive people. Don't worry Ive made donations to the athletic department!! Go Big Red!! Quote

BSFwins Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 BSF cannot find a rose on mc neese lettermen. Sure it was a mistake on their part. does bsf stand for bigger stronger faster? you know a Hawaiian started that program. He turns 42 on the 29th of September and I'm currently putting together a scrapbook but here are a few things I know. He was to sign with Texas A&I (now Texas A&M-Kingsville) on in Feb 1990 but he decided to go to McNeese. Former LCM HC/AD David Williams attended McNeese and Cazzy knew the recruiting coordinator well and remained close even though he turned down McNeese State. I can't recall his name but he got Daniel a scholarship. The reason he isn't showing up as a letterman is he redshirted as a freshman. My mom has all his pictures from being at McNeese. I do remember he was #14. After spring ball he was 2nd team RCB but decided to marry an Aggie and transfer to Lamar (they did not have a team in 1991). He graduated from Lamar and all three years he was at LCM they made the playoffs, he was a finalist for the HC/AD job at a 2A school and when he didn't get that job he moved to West Brook and they had Chip Ambres. Then he later moved to Mansfield and they made the playoff every year he was there. He is now the Senior Pastor at Community Christian School in Orange, Texas and just hired a new Administrator for the school. Prior, he was the Superintendent as is responsible for starting that schools football program. But, if I share with him that he isn't listed as a letterman he will just laugh. If you know Jeff Mathews Vidor's Head Football coach, he was a GA then and lost a bet that D was the fastest freshman. D came in second in the forty 4.45. Overall as a freshman he was the 5th fastest. Yes, BSF does stand for Bigger, Stronger, Faster. Quote

BSFwins Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Puddin just for you, I'll post all the pictures we have of McNeese State media day 1990 with #7 from Orange, Texas. lol I'm related to Tom Landry! It has the same value on this thread as your laughable post. Now, if you think back someone said I know nothing about the game of football? That attitudes like mine are for quitters and losers. If that comment was deleted or the dude apologized I would be home already instead of waiting to see if one of you jack asses would like to meet in person. Mr Kelly Bulldog, you guys are terrible. What is that now, 20 loses in a row? Maybe the administration at Kelly will ask you to volunteer coach due to your vast knowledge of the game. This way you are on the other side of all this crazy talk about coaches and players quitting. Because I saw first hand a freshman QB from Bridge City beat Kelly. Are those kids quitters?!?! Quote

Guest LU 17 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Please get back on topic. Are really discussing high school football on his site. I'm waiting for Uncle Rico to post. LU 55 Bacone. 0 Quote
BSFwins Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Thx U Puddin, a college coach has to have think skin. I can't say anything about him or your comment. Appreciate the clarification. The players played their hearts out! Now, we can stay on topic without him posting all his other awards or newspaper clippings, the games films of PNG, Nederland, CE King or the highlight film. lol Lamar will I hope learned something. Play everyone but call plays attempting to score. Until less than 2:00 in the 4th and run out the clock. LU is going to dominate the game. The will be successful running, throwing and have at least 5 explosive plays. They will hold them to less than 200 yards of total offense. Lamar will score on offense, defense and special teams. At least one kick will get blocked. LU 76, Bacone 3 Uncle Rico Quote
LUSportsFan Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 We interrupt the game predictions for an important message. :) I noticed that the main page of lamarcardinals.com has been announcing Red Out Game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday has been deemed as a "Red Out".
