LU4LIFE Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Lamar leads 38-26 where was this offense all season long Quote
Big T Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Yea so I just got kicked out of the game.... ::) Apparently the father of one of the players can shove one of the Lamar students, but when you rag on his son because his dad is so protective they will kick you out of the game. Oh and by the way, the father was allowed to stay after shoving the student. Quote
Vroo Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Lamar leads 38-26 where was this offense all season long Are you kidding me? With the exception of a few games this has offensively been one of the best seasons in school history. Quote
eagle eye Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 McNeese score the last TD with :58 left in the game. Damn, another woulda, coulda, shoulda game. We have been so darn close in so many games this season. We were not the laughing stock of the conference and I believe we earned some respect. Next year we'd better get over the hump and learn to start winning these games. Nice season Cards. As for Big T and the security. I don't know what to say. Security was wrong and so was the Dad. It's a shame in our own stadium we are treated like visitors. Quote
LU4LIFE Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Wish we could of won that game but we'll get them next year Quote
McNeese72 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Yea so I just got kicked out of the game.... ::) Apparently the father of one of the players can shove one of the Lamar students, but when you rag on his son because his dad is so protective they will kick you out of the game. You are lucky the father didn't kick your butt. Doc Quote
Big T Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Umm... Excuse me but we were not talking to him. We were yelling at the defense as a whole and he responded. It was not us that went after him, he went after us. Of course if a player responds to our heckling then we are going to get on him more. The simple fact that his daddy came to his defense after he started to cuss us out and flipped the bird shows just why he responded. Also earlier in the game if you did not notice, every time a McNeese player went to the table to get worked on, we would go over and give them a fist bump and tell them we hoped they were ok. Yea your accusations here are completely unfounded and Daddy needs to let his son grow up a bit and stop taking up for him. Quote
McNeese72 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I've been on the sideline for 20+ years and you young kids think you are cute and funny and affect the game by spouting a bunch of crap at the players on the sidelines. Most of the time the players and the rest of us on the sidelines ignore your shit and you just come off as immature, sophomoric idiotics. One of these days you will grow up and realize how stupid it sounds. If I was you, I would leave the injured players alone. Doc Quote
LU 17 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Mcneese, our fans are pretty good about the opposing teams injured players. We always give them a cheer and respect when they come off the field. I don't think anybody here was seriously cheering any players injury. When we played Rice many years ago they laughed and spit on the injured players. The student section was right behind our bench. Quote

There is a reason why the student section is located behind the opposing teams bench, it's to heckle them and get in their heads. We have been cussed out by coaches and players, had Gatorade thrown on us, spit on/at by players, and have had objects thrown at us. It's not stupid or sophomoric, it works and we the student have a good time at the game. Last night we had Gatorade thrown on us (this happens at least once a game) and we were cussed out. Yea don't think that it doesn't work... It does. Quote

You are taking up for the players actions or his dad? Lets turn this around and a player and his father in involved was from Lamar with fans during a game? Regardless of what is said, the player should never even acknowledge what the students are saying. I've been to many games at McNeese and the students and fans are normally great but I've heard fans talking to opposing players as well. Quote

WOS95 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 whats the big deal? as a player you are supposed to ignore the fans...ignore the crowd and play football...bottom line...unless a fan goes on to the field..the players need to concentrate on the game...if the fans are getting on your nerves...walk away...theres plenty of room on those sidelines to get away from the crowd... dirtybird Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Well no ass whipping last night, like some guys on here predicted. You really need to think about how far Lamar has came in the past 4 years, especially this year. I heard some McNeese fans talking some really good things about Lamar last night. Quote
CoachPace Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Big red did great this year. We competed in a lot of games. People who think a program is built over night or in 1 to 3 years do not know how much work it takes. I'm proud of Lamar football. Looking forward to 2014 season. LUSportsFan Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Disappointing turnout, but the weather was really not conducive for anyone who was not a hardcore fan. There were even a lot of people around us who are usually at the game that didn't make this one. We enjoyed the game and came loaded for bear. My wife and I both had two coats and a throw blanket apiece. We forgot to load our bag that has our ponchos and other inclement weather gear. I remembered it as we were pulling into Beaumont. I didn't feel like driving back to west Houston, so we made a run to buy ponchos just in case, but didn't need them. Typical southeast Texas cooler weather in the 40's, but with high winds (around 25 mph and gusts to 31 mph at the airport). I imagine the wind velocity may have been a little higher than official where we were due to a venturi effect. At least it seemed that way. Very chilly. It would be interesting to measure wind speeds at various points in the stadium versus speeds in an unobstructed area outside of the stadium just to see if there is a difference. Hot chocolate sales were brisk at the concession stands. I realize there are areas in the US a lot colder, but I felt a lot more uncomfortable than I have at my daughter's in northern Colorado with a lot colder temperatures. We still enjoyed the game and are glad that we went. Can't wait for next season. Quote
