So who knows what to expect from either team on Thursday. To make us all feel better (or worse, now that I think about it) we've posted a couple videos today featuring local news highlights of a pair of Lamar/UNO games from the 80s when we battled for American South titles. One thing I remember is that it was hard for the visiting team to leave Lakefront with a win. The sportscaster in the first clip looked like Jim Bergamo. If I recall and that is him, he also spent some time in Beaumont at KFDM (I think with Keith Calkins) before they both moved on to other cities.
