jdcurran235 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Does anyone know how we rank versus other texas schools? And what the actual figure is? Quote
coachacola Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 This is a good tool for comparing schools in Texas: http://www.txhighereddata.org/Interactive/Accountability/ For 2012 it shows about $3.5 million in research at Lamar, but on Lamar's website they say over $10 million in reasearch. Not sure what the difference is. Quote
LUSportsFan Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Coincidentally, I was looking at the THECB site this morning. One of the reports I was looking at was a little confusing to me...probably because I was unfamiliar with it. In one section, our listed research $'s were in line with the "over $13 million" on the Lamar website. If I recall, it showed $14 million in 2011 and just a shade under $13 million in 2012. A section just below it showed amounts like $4 million for 2011 and a little over $3 million for 2012. Wonder if the top section is the total amount in grants for the reporting year (maybe some were multi-year grants) and the lower section is the amount spent for those grants during the reporting year. cardambassador Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 There is a matching process, I think the $3 or $4 million is research matched by the state through THECB. Just a guess from when I worked with Dean Hopper. Quote
