coachacola
With spring practices right around the corner I thought it would be a good time to talk about the depth chart. On offense: Who will be the backup QB behind Berry, Mitchell or Dausin? Will Harris and/or Raleigh put up good numbers behind Harrington? With Gillam and Babin graduated, how will the OL look? All the receivers are back except Edwards. Which young ones will step up? Will KJ be moved to DB? Bigger changes on defense: Dickson and Murrill are gone, who will take their place? Will Okafor move to DE with Frost the backup at NT? With most of the starting LBs and DBs graduated, who will step up? Will Beard and KJ step up and hve big years? Which young guys will make an impact? With the loss of two coaches and few starters returning, will we see big drop in the defense? Tell us your thoughts and comments. coachacola
Spring roster is here: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/lama/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2013-14/misc_non_event/.pdf Kevin Johnson and Judge Wolfe have moved to safety which we already knew. Joe Okafor is a DE (he played DT last year). RB Des Richards is not on the roster.
coachacola
RB Jaquarius Johnson is on the roster, I'm guessing this is him: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/130823/jaquarius-johnson
NorthoftheBorder
Lots of names on the spring roster I do not recognize. Anyone big names missing besides Des Richards? Who was the running back from Magnolia West that was a freshman last year? Was that Richards?
coachacola
Ian Kelso is not on the spring roster. Is he hurt or graduate?
NorthoftheBorder
A couple of DL guys with eligiblity left, Marcus Washington and Jonathon Green (North Shore) are not on the roster. There are 67 total and I think there will be 16 additional from spring signing so that would be a total of 83. Seems to be a few less than we have been having. Anyone know about some of those that have left??

That kid's motor is always running. I expect him to be a beast, too. Also glad Okafor has moved back to the outside.
Mike
Ian Kelso is not on the spring roster. Is he hurt or graduate? Reinjured knee, no longer playing football.

Seered
We need to go look at some DL in JUCO and get them here A.S.A.P.
WBCP2
Not sure what team you're watching this spring SeeRed. The DL is the strength of the D with the most depth. LU did pu a Texas State trans, who is in spring camp and a juco from Blinn who is coming in the fall. At this point the 3 starters appear to be Okafor at 6'6" 295, Tebo 6'1" 300+, Curran 6'4" 255. Not sure what you dislike about the DL, but they will be solid this year with plenty of depth. LU is in need of LB's and OL. Injuries have taken there toll this spring. I'm hoping we will still be able to have a spring game this Sat.
Seered
WBCP2 can't watch the Team because I live 400 miles and have a job!
puddin tane
Okafor just takes up space....
WBCP2
Puddin I do understand your concern with Okafor. However, he does look better back at DE and it's the backups and depth that will make this unit strong this year. IMO you won't see any drop off in talent from 1st to 3rd teamers. They all bring something a little different to the game. I just hope the coach utilizes all of them and keeps everyone fresh. We shall see.
