Bad weekend for Baseball and Softball

Featured Replies

Ladies were swept by McNeese this weekend. LU needed to take at least one of the games and then have some help in other games in order to make the conference tournament. Step one didn't happen, so it is "Wait until next year".

Unless there is a dramatic comeback in the bottom of the 9th, the men will drop two to HBU. (Last time I checked, the Cardinals were down 12-2 with HBU still at bat in the top of the 9th.)

Update: Today's final was HBU winning 13-2.

Man, you have to wonder WTF happened to the Lady Cards down the stretch. The Lady Cards had an up and down season but to lose 15 of their last 17 games is a real head scratcher. But, with a nice recruiting class coming in I look for better days ahead for the Lady Cards.

The men lost 2 of 3 to HBU and it's not what how you want to close out your home schedule and it doesn't help these were conference games. Lamar closes the season on the road. This weekend the face conference leader TAMU-CC and next week they finish against Oral Roberts who are in the middle of the SLC pack just behind Lamar. I think it would be a big confidence boost if Lamar can win both series. I'm not greedy, just win 4 out of the next 6 and Lamar can go into the SLC tournament on bit of a roll.
