Ruckdad Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Any chance the game gets postponed or cancelled with the weather coming this way? Quote
coachacola Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I would say it's only cancelled if the storm turns into a hurricane. Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 The chance of rain has been reduced to 30% for game day. That's down from 60% a few days ago. If this keeps up there will likely be 0% chance Saturday. :) weather is predicted by differential equations, diff eqs are enormously sensative to initial conditions that's why weather men are wrong more than they are right. It's not their fault. :) It's scattered T-Storms with 30% chance so there is no way I see it getting delayed. Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Weather.com: http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail/USTX0089?dayNum=2 That's currently what sept 3rd is forecast for. two days ago the chance of percipitation was 60%. The hourly forecast for Saturday will be up by the end of the day. 9 a.m. looks good though. :) Quote
Rev at lumberjackfans.com Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Weather - the only job in which you can be 100 percent wrong and not get fired. Quote
Guest CardinalClaw Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Weather - the only job in which you can be 100 percent wrong and not get fired. Isn't that the truth. Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 The chances of rain for today were suppose to be 40% it's been down graded to 10% all day. Do not let the weathermen keep you away from this game, there is still an excellent chance the weather will be more than acceptable tomorrow too. Quote
LUSportsFan Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I'm not a meteorologist, but looking at the National Hurricane Center projection it looks like the projected track of the storm will take it over Louisiana east of Lafayette and then Northeast. Here's a link to the National Hurricane Center site showing the current predicted storm track (upgraded to Tropical Storm Lee). Link: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at3+shtml/145613.shtml?5-daynl#contents Noticed that KFDM downgraded the chance of rain on Saturday to 30%. Greg Cooper's tweet ... "Lowering the coverage of rain this weekend to only about 30%. Storm too far to our east. Rainfall this weekend likely less than 1 inch." link: http://www.kfdm.com/sections/weather/5day/ We're packing ponchos just in case. One big positive, is that it looks like we may get the benefit of cooler weather from this. The forecast high for Saturday is 89 with a forecast low of 77 ... a lot better than what we were looking at the beginning of the week. I can handle rain a lot better than heat as long as it is not flooding rain. Quote
Big T Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I usually use stormpulse. Everytime i look at it the storm has moved futher and futher east. We mght not even get any rain from it. http://www.stormpulse.com/tropical-storm-lee-2011 Quote
DJLocal Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Yes, love stormpulse. Yeah it keeps moving more and more east Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Yay, the trajectory keeps turning east. I know we need the rain but anyday other than game day. Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Good news, the rain we're getting is really light and the type you can stand in, bad news, it's rain. Looks like the chances for rain in the evening are the lowest so that's a good sign for the game. Quote

Looks like the chances for rain in the evening are the lowest so that's a good sign for the game. The REALLY good news is were not getting hammered with the east side of that storm. In all honesty this weather probably feels better than the 110 degree heat index we've been dealing with lately. The drizzle will keep some fans away but the blistering heat would have too. Quote
Big T Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 We're supposed to get some thunder storms later this afternoon. :( Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 We're supposed to get some thunder storms later this afternoon. :( Gotta take the forecast into perspective. Here's the hour by hour: http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/USTX0089 It shows that we're already experiencing thunderstorms at 100% coverage but I don't hear any thunder. The coverage for later in the day is 50%, I think we're going to be fine. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Like I said, it will rain all day. Mostly light to moderate, but at times a bit heavy. Also, it will rain heavy on Texas College tonight as well.;) Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 looks like the rain will become intermittent at around 5 p.m. that will still give us two hours of partial sun. Quote
beechnut Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I hope so bc be nice if it keeps the temps down. Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Coverage starts to downgrade at 2 pm 70% 3 pm 60% 4 pm 50%. These coverages were all 100% a few hours ago. Quote
