SFA getting a Big Transfer

Featured Replies

@newyscruggs: Devonte' Fields tweeted out he will transfer to Stephen F. Austin. The DE will be eligible to play this year. #TCU 's D takes a big hit.

@newyscruggs: Devonte Fields was the @Big12Conference preseason DPOY for #TCU & ranked #12 @MelKiperESPN 2015 draft board. He's transferring to SFA.

That is quite interesting.

Wow...I heard TCU was trying to block it because the teams play next season (it wouldn't have mattered cause I'm sure he would have entered the draft after this year)...but it sounds like it only blocks SFA from this season

Go get em coach bailey.

I'm all for 2nd chances...but this guy (allegedly) pointed a gun at his girlfriend...I'll pass

Not so fast... apparently he's now backed out of the transfer, as TCU has suspended him for the year under their honor code and has refused to give him a transfer waiver.

Per SFA, this would make him ineligible for the year--even at SFA.

We'll see where this circus ends up... looks to me like he might not end up playing anywhere this year, although I have no idea how much "weight" a suspension is given from a transfer perspective, and whether it carries any kind of authority. Certainly some schools would refuse to take him, but I don't know if others could.
