Dez Bryant: No Contract talk after Week 1

The Cowboys want to lock up Bryant long term so I believe the Cowboys will announce a deal this weekend after the final preseason games are over and the final roster cuts to the final 53 player limit will be reached. The buzz will be opening day and it would be big enough bang for the Cowboys PR machine to announce, pretty much out of the blue, the signing of a deal for Bryant. Don't think so? Okay, but Bryant wants to stay in Dallas for innumerable reasons and he's going to give the inevitable home town discount and Dez has proved he is worth the monetary investment. I'm thinking on Monday when I'm sure the Cowboys have an off day in prep for establishing a regular routine for the regular season the announcement of a deal will be made. It's just too much like Jerry to make the biggest splash on opening week.
