coachacola Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 A 13-game home slate and three road games against postseason participants from last season highlight the 2014-15 Lamar University women's basketball schedule that was announced today. The Lady Cardinals, who were Southland Conference co-champions and competed in the WNIT last season, open the 2014-15 campaign at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 when Louisiana-Lafayette comes to the Montagne Center. The regular season wraps up when Lamar plays host to Sam Houston State at 5:30 p.m. March 5 in a Southland Conference doubleheader that sees the LU men's team taking on Sam Houston State in the nightcap. In between, the Lady Cardinals will play 27 other games, including contests at NCAA participants Oklahoma (Nov. 18) and Wright State (Dec. 14). Lamar is at TCU, which competed in the WNIT last season, on Dec. 11. The Lady Cardinals also travel to Big Ten power Ohio State on Dec. 16. Lamar has four non-conference home games this season. In addition to the opener against the Ragin' Cajuns, the Lady Cardinals host UTSA on Nov. 23, St. Thomas (Houston) on Nov. 29 and Huston-Tillotson on Dec. 2. http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/082614aab.html PDF schedule: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/lama/sports/w-baskbl/auto_pdf/2014-15/schedule/schedule.pdf Quote
jdcurran235 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Seems like a decent schedule. Good mix of tough games with some soft ones to practice some offensive and defensive schemes. Quote
Big T Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 That's a tough road stretch though. Hopefully next season we will be getting returns from Rice, TX State, Tulsa, and Wright State. I still have an issue playing non D1 Schools. Quote
