BRI.com SLC Power Rankings: Week 2

Again, better late than never. Real life caught up with me this week so sorry so last minute. :)

Thoughts?

My thoughts are that Lamar should be around 7 or 8, not 5. My thoughts are that we are closer to the bottom than we are to the top. Unfortunately the last two weeks of football have been a COMPLETE WASTE of time for everyone. You can't get any positives or lessons from the ridiculous loss to A&M except for the big pay check. And we can't take anything away from beating the piss out of Texas College. I'm not kidding when I say, there are high schools better than Texas College. That's not a jab, that's a damn fact. 2 straight weeks of waste. We have gained nothing, and lost time. Nothing we have done has prepared us for anything. I'm so angry with the direction of this schools program. A staff with better vision would have us preparing a lot better than this. I'm afraid 7-5 is looking like a ceiling more and more each day.

CS, since you are so angry with the direction of the schools program, then go back to your SHSU sites. Also, as big a blow out as the last two games were, game time is good time and it does benefit us by playing at game speed against other teams...execution of our offense, defense and our special teams. We need it... CS, you always complain, but you don't do anything about.

I think the rankings are just about right. We beat SFA last year and we are a much better team than Northwestern State, IMO. We had our worst performance against NWST last year and I felt we were a better team. I am looking forward to the Sam Houston game. Hopefully, we can prove that we belong in the top half of the rankings and not the middle. Another interesting team to watch will be Abilene Christian. Those guys are not gonna just roll over on us. We get SAM at home and then ACU away back to back... we will know where we stand after those two games, IMO
