Geezer, I agree that sometimes (a lot of times) the QB was slow in the defensive read, drop back, planting and throwing. I noticed this especially when we played TSU in Houston.

We got whooped all the way around. Our team went flat very quick. I thought we had some LU fans in the stands, who were trying to get the team going, but our team was dead. We went through the motions and couldn’t win it on a long FG or a last second TD or the other team making some bone headed play at the end to hand us a win. We got outplayed, out coached and UIW wanted to beat us and they did…pretty easily.

Tex, I’ll be there also with some backup. I hope we have some fans make the trip. This could be a very special season.

In 1985, we started off 3-0 and we were ranked 11th. I am not sure what pole because we didn’t have all these other poles, but we were 11 in the Div 1AA pole. FYI, we finished 3-8. I just looked at the schedule and saw that Rice U. game was the 4th game that year. We had 10 turnovers that game in a game we should have won. I don’t remember much, but I do remember that.

I was surprised we only had 200 yards of total offense. I watched the game and it seemed like we wanted to out physical SD on the offensive line and the run. It was a great game and we deserved to win. We outplayed SD. Great win and I enjoyed watching the entire game.

After getting obliterated by North Texas, like the title says, I am not feeling good either!

This team looks like they are just going through the motions. We don’t look very dominating! I keep waiting for a breakout game to ignite this team. It’s probably not going to happen this year. I also heard on TV that LU ranks 121 out of 123 in penalties and like 120 in penalty yardage. Go LU

A friend of mine, has a son that is starter on the O-Line for HCU. He said the McNeese starting QB was injured (broken hand) during the game.

You know, I watched the game on ESPN +. I noticed the down and distance displayed was almost always wrong. The broadcast was not good, but at least I could watch the game. My post is about all the penalties we had. Because I watched on ESPN +, they did not replay and show the specific player commit the penalty. I wonder how subjective the officiating was against us. However, I did see a player for MVSU take a swing at one of our lineman during our last touchdown play. He did it right in front of a ref and there was no call. The announcers reacted when it happened, but just like the official, they let it go.
