She (daughter) picked a GREAT school in her sport (track) they were indoor AND outdoor 2013 CHAMPIONS! I do not live there, but obviously she does...and we support HER school....

 

now back to football - if LU thinks the respective records (or any other stat this season) means anything toward who will win Saturday, you're sadly mistaken...I do hope SHSU wins (and I think they will) but it should be a good game...SHSU having some issue (just not as big as some think) and LU on the rise (just not as high as some think)...

Nope, no where close!

 

Lamar never had football while I was there anyway...and i just finished my degree at LU...played baseball at USL (another friend of the Cardinals) before that...so I never really had a loyal connection with LU anyway...

 

I will say this, this game is a defining game for Sam. We have been beat up a bit whatever the classification FBS, FCS or DII we have 3 losses and that's not sitting well.......whereas I don't feel it wold mean a whole lot (due to LU's average standing in the conference) if SHSU does win..it's expected......on the other hand...IF they lose to LU, it could in fact cause a major decline for the rest of the season, and alot of soul searching will have to take place in BearKat country.

People were complaining and wondering if the death of LU football was near again or "How do you fix Lamar"...blah blah blah...No action on that site so I was directed here....I don't HATE Lamar, but I am a Sam fan..and enjoy college football....all I'm trying to do is get come LU talk going...the only reason all that was said is so I wouldn't be thought of as a typical SHSU talk crap, rude and mean...

We are in a much much better state than Sam in the Athletic dept.. we blow you away in attendance in almost every sport.. I believe we have the biggest budget in the southland by a long shot in some cases.. .football is not going away... atleast our scoreboard doesnt malfunction during games.... meaning we our facilities BLOW sams out of the water. Go look at the Sam board.. I went over to talk a little noise just as you did and I was attacked personally... so when I responded they banned me... so quit acting like sam is the alabama of the southland or the harvard of the tsus... cuz it is not.. they had a good run with Fitz and Marlin... now back to their normal mediocrity.... We are in year 5 of our program so yes their will be hiccups.. not saying woodard is the man for the job but he has shown improvement year over year.... if we beat sam and win our 9 games I will be happy with the progress..

CraigS- welcome to the site. You've been one of the better SHSU fans that's posted here so far. Excuse the hostility of some of the LU fans, we've had plenty of SHSU fans that don't come here to reasonably post but rather to to bash Lamar & the Golden Triangle so some of our longtime members remember this and tend to always think the worst. This happens among both our fanbases on here and katfans.

With all that said, I disagree by comparison (not that it means much) but The Golden Triangle area is much bigger than Huntsville....true enough Houston burbs aren't that far but they have their own fan base for Rice U of H etc...whereas the GT has ONLY Lamar....anyway...Sam facilities are pretty nice (yes the scoreboard quit working) but all in all they are very nice...new softball/baseball facilities second to none in the SLC...Bowers got some upgrades this year and will get a new track this year...so I would NOT say blows SHSU out of the water on any of those topics........

 

As far as success, you are correct recent with those two coaches...yet LU hasn't had that, past (shut it down) of present, although seemingly improving (yet theres nowhere to go BUT up) With the track record of Sams new coach, I expect good things again...

 

As some have mentioned, this "may" be LU's year to have a chance at beating the Kats...if not this year...it won't happen again for a while....IMO
