coachacola Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 he Lamar Cardinals return to the field Saturday, with more on the line, as LU (3-1, 0-0 SLC) opens Southland Conference play against 2014 FCS playoff participant Sam Houston State (1-3, 0-0). The Cardinals enter Saturday riding a two-game win streak beating their last two opponents by a combined 128-10 score. The Bearkats are at the opposite end of the spectrum having dropped two straight and reeling from a 47-21 setback to Colorado State-Pueblo last time out. "Obviously, this is a big game for a couple of reasons," said head coach Ray Woodard. "It's the conference opener and that is always a big game for everyone around the country. It is the beginning of what is going to be a very tough conference schedule from top to bottom. We all know what Sam Houston has been able to accomplish on the field recently. We are excited to play this game, but it is going to be a huge challenge." "Secondly, we are on pace to get Robert Mitchell back on the field. He adds another element to our offense when he is on the field, forcing defenses to keep an eye on him. Mitchell was slowed by an injury during the Texas College game but he is back to 100 percent and I expect him to be on the field Saturday." http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/092614aab.html Quote

coachacola Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 What's ray planning? We gonna try running? We throw, we win...we run we lose.... I'm afraid the offensive game plan will probably underwhelm SHSU. Quote
