LUSportsFan Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 http://img.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/files/2014/11/Engineering-Grads.jpg from The Washington Post. Where to go to college to make the most money — for each major Forget the dorms, the dining halls, the parties, the picturesque quads, and, yes, even the libraries. Where should you go to college if all you care about is making the most money? http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2014/11/21/where-to-go-to-college-to-make-the-most-money-for-each-major/ Quote

NorthoftheBorder Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 You mean that we are above TAMU??? They are not even on this list of the top ten!! Quote
LUSportsFan Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) You mean that we are above TAMU??? They are not even on this list of the top ten!! A&M is ahead of Lamar overall meaning they rated higher over a broader range of majors. Even so, playing with the database, Lamar compares favorably on the broader scale with universities I would consider peers as well as many well known universities. As the article noted, Lamar compares very, very well in the Engineering discipline. Below is a link to the website which provided some basis to The Washington Post article. If you have some time, play with it. You can slice and dice and do numerous comparisons. Looks like the article used the "Majors/Careers" tab and then drilled down to "Best Schools for Majors" and finally selecting the major. Engineering is where Lamar really shines in the database. http://www.payscale.com/college-salary-report Edited December 1, 2014 by LUSportsFan Quote
