LUSportsFan
from lamarcardinals.com The Lamar University softball team is picked to finish seventh place in the Southland Conference in polls of both the conference’s coaches and sports information directors. “I believe we are a better team than that, but we have to prove it on the field,” Lamar coach Holly Bruder said. “We weren’t one of the six teams to go to the tournament last season, so I understand why were picked to finish seventh.” Read more here: http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/w-softbl/spec-rel/012115aab.html
Big T
The success of this team is going to hinge on one aspect, pitching. With both Tina and Shannon graduating, they are turning to Junior transfer from UCF Lauren Donnely and three incoming freshmen as well as Shannon Sain who was previously an infielder turned pitcher. If Lamar can get the pitching ironed out, the offense will be potent. Especially in the new stadium which like Ford Park will have the wind blowing out most of the season. If Lamar can get some quality from the new pitchers then this team could finish in the top three in the conference.
