Monday was that day for the Lamar Cardinals (10-8), as they overcame one of their worst shooting performances of the season, and a 10-point deficit to knock off Southeastern Louisiana to remain in the thick of the Southland Conference race. The Cardinals enter Saturday's contest alone in fourth place in the Southland standings with a 4-2 (.667) league record, only a half game back of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi - a team Lamar defeated earlier this season in Corpus Christi. Saturday's contest at Houston Baptist presents an interesting matchup between two similar teams. The Cardinals finished 12th in the Southland standings last year posting a 3-15 (.167) record in league play, but one of the teams Big Red defeated along the way was HBU. The Huskies finished last in the conference with a 2-16 (.111) record - but that was last season.
