Just 24 hours after opening spring drills the Lamar Cardinals football team has strengthened its defense with the addition of Ventura College transfer David Owens announced head coach Ray Woodard. A 6-4, 245-pound product from Baltimore, Md., Owens adds to a recruiting class that consisted of 13 defensive players, including two defensive lineman, on National Signing Day. That defensive number jumps to 15 with the addition of Texas transfer Cameron Hampton, who joined the Cardinals roster in December.

Makes 2 of us...it drives me crazy that it takes our athletic department so long to update it...I mean they updated it to add the NSD guys but can't add the Dec transfers or remove the players who transfered out? Hell if they let me I'll do it for cheap lol

It appears that DE David Owens will not be joining the Lamar team after all. He is now listed as a 2016 recruit on Rivals. Not sure if he didn't make grades/credits required or if he decided to back out and play out his final year of JUCO eligibility.
