coachacola Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Online opportunities are continuing to boostLamar University's profile, with the college posting record spring enrollment numbers on Tuesday. Brian Sattler, Lamar public relations director, said 14,052 students enrolled in the university this spring, up by more than 560 students from this time last year. Sattler said the biggest enrollment gains were made in computer science and engineering courses. http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/news/article/LU-boasts-record-spring-enrollment-6087352.php?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Quote
KABrother88 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Now we need to get these kids outta online classes and on campus on Saturdays... Quote
coachacola Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 I'm happy to see Lamar build their online enrollment. That's the future of education. Quote
KABrother88 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I do agree that online classes is what college is starting to evolve to but with as little on-campus activity there already is with LU being such a commuter school, I think it's a bit of a disturbing trend for the future of campus life. People who never step foot on campus truly miss out on a lot of experiences I'm glad I got to partake in...sometimes I enjoyed them a little too much lol Quote
