The 2015 Southland Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Tournament returns to Beaumont Friday through Sunday, April 24-26 at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center hosted by Lamar University.

It's great that the tournaments will be in Beaumont, but I wonder why the venue is not the Thompson Family Tennis Center located on Lamar's campus. As I recall, the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center on College is a nice facility, but the Thompson Family Tennis Center appeared to be very nice with much more than adequate stadium seating when we made a campus run in the fall. Based on Google Maps Earth View, it looks like the seating is a lot better at the on-campus facility. Since there is a delay in satellite pictures, the College Street venue may have had recent improvements, also.
