I saw on SETX Sports that former LU Defensive Lineman Matt Burnett has retired from his position as Athletic Director for Port Neches-Groves. Many of them are convinced that he has taken a position somewhere with Lamar. Hopefully Mike can use his PN-G sources to find something out.

Burnett is the winningest coach in PN-G history going 95-66 in 15 seasons as Head Coach and winning 4A Coach of the Year in 1999 as PN-G fell to Art Briles (now Baylor HC) led Stephenville in the State Championship game. That same year he was inducted into the Cardinal Hall of Honor.

Burnett was not AD. He was over transportation.

Was told he will be heading to Lamar.
