August 4, 201510 yr I saw on SETX Sports that former LU Defensive Lineman Matt Burnett has retired from his position as Athletic Director for Port Neches-Groves. Many of them are convinced that he has taken a position somewhere with Lamar. Hopefully Mike can use his PN-G sources to find something out. Burnett is the winningest coach in PN-G history going 95-66 in 15 seasons as Head Coach and winning 4A Coach of the Year in 1999 as PN-G fell to Art Briles (now Baylor HC) led Stephenville in the State Championship game. That same year he was inducted into the Cardinal Hall of Honor.

August 4, 201510 yr I think the coaching staff is short a coach compared to last year. I was going to look at the coaching staff on the new lamar website but the navigation is still hosed up so I can't get to that information.
August 4, 201510 yr Author We should be back to full staff...Coach Kueck was OC/QB and Coach Langston was OL...he is now OC/OL and Ramon Flannigan is QB. Coach Ramsey was replaced by Jeffery Breaux as DOFO. I haven't heard of anyone else leaving.

September 4, 201510 yr Anybody heard on the status of Matt Burnett? I pretty sure is not coaching at Lamar and he cannot teach there without a Masters Degree, which is why he was never given the PNG Athletic Directors job at PNG.
