KABrother88
I will be at the Crawfish Bowl tomorrow and will be providing updates on Twitter. Follow @bigredinsider if you don't already do. They will not be breaking the team up into 2 separate teams like they typically do. According to the coaches there have been too many injuries on the OL & DL to have enough players to fill 2 different teams. Game will strictly be offense vs defense with a scoring system. Scoring system is as follows: Offense Touchdown = 6 pts Field Goal = 3 pts 2 pt Conversion = 2 pts Extra Point = 1 pt 10+ Yard Play = 1 pt Drive With 3 1st Downs = 1 pt Flagrant Penalty = -1 pt Defense Defensive Touchdown = 10 pts Turnover = 6 pts Missed Field Goal = 3 pts Failed 2 pt Conversion = 2 pts Sack = 1 pt 3 & Out = 1 pt Tacke For Loss = 1 pt Flagrant Penalty = -1 pt Warm ups begin at noon with the scrimmage slated to begin at about 12:20. First half will be 30-35 plays and will be of a more controlled scrimmage. Halftime will include an intramural 7-on-7 flag football game between Pi Kappa Alpha and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternities 2nd half will be closer to an actual game. KABrother88
Finally got my hands on a spring roster today. One thing I've learned is to not put too much weight into what it says. Sometime, some injured players aren't listed and others are. Sometime players aren't listed at all yet they are out there playing. But a couple things did pop out to me. • Cameron Hampton was listed. He transfered from Texas in 2015, then was academically ineligible last season. He was not suited up today but I believe I saw him on the sideline on crutches. • Chase Woods was listed with the Defense. Was an OL in '14 (RS) and '15. Did not suit up however. • Brandon Beaton was not listed but got quite a few snaps on the DL. Had been a TE previously. • Kade Burman, Dedrick Garner & Marcus Odell all worked with the DL today. All 3 were listed at LB before. • New names fighting for a roster spot: Joe Winters Kaleb Sparks (PN-G grad) Devante Smith Jordan Jones (Had a nice reception) Kevin Bell Jack Dillard Titus Hunt (Had an INT) The first team OL was: LT - Dante Catteano (Sr) LG - Kanon Mackey (So) C - Kevin Grief (Jr) RG - Ethan Cothen (So) RT - Joseph Gonzales ( So) Won't be the opener lineup with the trio of Jon Craven, Matt Oubre and Brett Treadway being held out this spring. Really liked what I saw from RB Derrion Randle today. Started slow in the 1st part but so did the whole offense. Showed good burst and some shifty moved in the 2nd portion. Could be our #2 this season. Hard to judge anything honestly with so many people out. A few I noticed out there but not playing was: - RB Kade Harrington (fielded kicks and played holder) - WR Mike Handy - OL John Craven - OL Matt Oubre - OL Bret Treadway - OL Connor Ward - DL Larry Carroll - DL Chase Woods - DL William Wowkonyan - LB - Cameron Hamptob - LB Mike Hargis - LB Eddie McGill
