2016 preseason All-SLC was announced this morning. Per the Lamar press release there were 4 Cards honored.

1st Team RB - Kade Harrington

1st Team OL - Bret Treadway

1st Team KR - Rodney Randle

2nd Team DB - Brendan Langley

Langley getting a 2nd team not having only played half of last season there shows you what he's capable of.

Something if found interesting is that DL Larance Hale was named to the 1st as well in the SLC press release. As we know he was kicked off the team in the spring but it's been reported he got a 2nd chance with a trial period to see if he can earn his way back. The Lamar release makes no mention of him so I would assume either he is still in the trial period or it didn't work out and the All-SLC teams had already been voted on.

I expect to see him lined up opposite Langley to open the season. Potentially the fastest CB duo in the SLC. Langley played really good down the stretch after moving from WR and Randle played alot last year and frankly surprised the hell outta me. Don't forget this guy was a true freshman last year too. Having an offseason and spring camp under his belt now I expect to see big things from him this year.

The posters on this site are hilarious. I have to be called a name because someone who obviously didn't watch much Lamar football ( but comments like he's a guru) asks an asinine question, but I'm a "Wipe"

Really!! Lol. Bro we've been down this path his entire Football Career. Doubters, Surprised folk, etc... I've said it from pee-wee to now, what games are you watching. While you speculate about his Career, he will continue to do what he was Taught; work hard & let others do the talking. Let's play football BRI

Go Cards!!!!

Another thing I just noticed was that McNeese DL Isaiah Golden is also listed on the first team. For those that don't know his back story he was a big time recruit that signed with A&M in 2013 and played quite a bit as a freshman...that offseason he along with another 2013 A&M signee were charged with armed robbery when they pulled guns during a drug deal and robbed the dealers. In May he was sentenced to 10 years in prison but the judge will review the sentencing after 4 months (early September) and could reduce it down to probation...don't see how he could play this season even if that happens.

Cardinals share the SLC Title & secure a playoff berth. If the Cards can somewhat stop the run, they could be impressive this year. Teams will find it difficult to pass on Lamar because of the 2 best DB's in the Conference. Gonna need lots of help from WR position, can't ever replace Reggie, must be a group effort. Can't wait for the Season. Coastal Carolina game will be huge for Beaumont. CC's RB is a Monster, but we have Mr Harrington
