QB 22

How in the hell did this happen, guy quit mid season on team and University, because of the pressure!! Why the hell cant we find a letterman for this job as it is no more than being a glorified secretary. This makes me question the values of the Leadership. To me it is a slap in the face to the University. Surely I am not the only one who will feel this way!! Matt Burnett would of been a great choice in my opinion, if he was really interested, rumor he was!! Unbelievable!!

Chuck...former Defensive Coordinator who "retired" with 2 games left in the 2015 season. I thought I saw him in some pictures from the press conference and was trying figure if it really was him or not. Was wondering why he would have been there but this explains it. Where did you see this QB 22?

A person in the Admin. at Lamar says he was hired Saturday to this position, I must say I would never come back to a place I quit on during the season, to me I would be embarrassed, but here is how I read the storyline. Press quote "After retiring I am energized and am thankful for this opportunity." My gut tells me Texas Home Health money is behind this!! JMHO. He is on the payroll at Lamar!!

Another thing I think is strange is the close relationship between McGallion and Woodard. Kinda surprised that McGallion was open to coming on to the new staff. Most of the time, your Director of Football Ops is just a title for a guy with some HS connections. Look back at our last two, Brett Ramsey is the son of Terry Joe Ramsey who has been a coach is SETX for a long time. After him we hired Jeffery Breaux who was the OC at West Brook. New OC Dan Dodd's son Bobby Dodd is the new TE coach and I was half expecting him to get the DOFO label too since he's a younger guy. Strangely though, Bobby Dodd hasn't been announced by Lamar even though Schultz called him by name during the signing day presser. The 2 positions that haven't been assigned on the athletic website are TE and ILB. With Dodd having TEs, that leaves just ILB...McGallion coached LBs before he was promoted to DC 2014...just reading between the lines...

I don't know anybody involved but I would like to offer another possibility. Craig McGallion was there from the first day of football coming back to Lamar. He spent 6 seasons on the staff and I don't think that someone, who had given that kind of effort, would just stop on a whim. I think that he was just burned out, Griner was there, and he just said that he was done and was done. This position of football operations is new(?) If so, the Lamar AD reached out to someone that he knows and has worked with.
