Rumor has it Kyle Green, Lamar Baseball pitching coach, leaving after 1st year?

Recommended Posts

Is it true that Kyle Green is leaving the Lamar Baseball program after just one year? Have heard there is a lot of disgruntlement among the baseball coaching staff. Not a good start if this is true for Will Davis' coaching era here at Lamar.

Why would the legendary local high school coach/Lamar pitching coach/Lamar Baseball alumni be leaving so soon????????? It doesn't sound good!

All I can find is rumor - no facts. All I found for certain is Jeremy Seymour has been hired as Hamshire-Fannett's head baseball coach. SETX sports is saying Green is at Nederland. The fact is, that was all the info given so I don't know if he's just in Nerderland visiting or if he's landed a job there or what.

The loss of Green, if the rumor is true, isn't earth shattering. It doesn't mean there is discord among Coach Davis' staff. Assistant coaches move all the time for lots of reasons.

That rumor was started over there in April and it didn't really get very far after the first guy posted it...I do know that Nederland hired former HC Jay Stone to assist Bryan Spell on the diamond for the bulldogs. Stone was HC at Nederland back in the 90's then moved on to PN-G. He retired in 2010 to be able to enjoy his son's senior year as dad instead of coach but is back coaching now. I wouldn't think Nederland would have hired 2 assistants of that stature.

Facts be known..... Will Davis has said many times he wants to De-Gilliganize the Lamar Baseball program. This is where the disgruntlement in the coaching staff started months and months ago. We Lamar baseball alumni know exactly what's going on internally. Right or wrong Will Davis should have never said he wants to De-Gilliganize the program..We all want what is best for our program, hopefully Davis wins! Edited by LU-Baseball Alumni
