Guest CardAmbassador
What was up with the punting in the first half? Kahler is better than that. It didn't make any sense.
coachacola
The first half had me very down the team and Woodard's coaching ability. He seems to be saying the right things and the team have heart and has improved since last year. If he can bring in some good recruits and beef up the defense for next year then we should see an improved team next year.
Guest bigred360
14 yards out. STOP THE PLAY. That is the real problem here. No second stringer is going to slide on the 2 when he has a shot. I love the Cards but Come On man get real. Yes, stop the play. Thats the correct answer but the play shouldnt have been run. It was a busch league TD by a jerk coach. Texas St had obtained their last 1st down and LU wasn't attempting to stop the clock. The Bobcats had a 19 point lead and the game was over. To get up to the line quickly in an attempt to run another play when the play clock was off was stupid. It could've got kids from either team hurt when the game was not in doubt, only the spread. This is the point I am trying to make. Thanks Mike. Calling the run play was not necessary, particularly rushing to the line to get the play off when the play clock was off. Bobcats didn't even need to snap the ball!!! That is the difference when I am speaking of showing no class. +

Since Fran didn't have to run a play, I guess they thought they would just let the game clock run out.

Running it in from the 2 yard line with time expiring, I would consider running it up. Throwing a 80 yard bomb with time expiring, I would consider running it up. Running a third stringer straight up the middle from the 14YL...not really blatantly running up the score. Seems if the Lamar D kept playing until the clock read 00:00, you guys wouldn't have anything to complain about. Good luck in the SLC guys, and maybe see ya in FBS someday? ;)

Personally, if I was the coach I would have kneeled the ball. People now a days get their panties in a bunch over the smallest things. It's just better to do the "P.C." thing and just kneel the ball. If any of you have got a lick of sense, you can see that at the end of the game, Fran was trying to run out the clock and NOT run up the score. Running a third string, true freshman RB between the tackles is NOT trying to run up the score. It worked out that way, but I honestly don't think that was Fran's intention. What I do think was Fran's intention was to get his third string RB some PT against a DI team. I was listening to the game on the radio and I heard the TXST announcers say that the Lamar D seemed to give up near the end of the game. Later, I heard someone say the Lamar announcers said the same thing. Seems like you guys should focus your attention on your own coaches/players instead of trying to make a federal case out of a TXST third stringer getting a TD in garbage time. Am I right or am I wrong? Good luck in the SLC guys, and maybe see ya in FBS someday? ;) Does it even matter anymore? You guys won, you were a better team. We definitely should have kept it closer, there was no excuse for us letting you score 5 TD's in a row. But you won. You already said it yourself you would have knelled the ball. That's all we are saying too, Fran should have knelled it. IMO our defense didn't really give up as much as they were a little surprised by the last play. All the plays before that they were running hard. That play I think they were a little shocked that TxSt actually was trying to score another TD. I know I was. Many of the fans thought TxSt was going to knell the ball, when they didn't we were all surprised. Regardless of the last play you guys won. Good job, good luck in future endeavors. After the last 1st down when LU quit attempting to stop the clock shouldve been the end of the ballgame. Theres no other way to spin it. Fran's son and Woodard used to work together so maybe there's bad blood there? Who knows but not many coaches hurry back to the line to run a play with 7 seconds left up by 19. d

My HONEST opinion is that the last play probably has more to do with Fran trying to get our third string RB as many rush attempts as he can cram in. Oh well. At least we didn't pull an SFA and go for a 2pt conversion while up 50+. :P
lu cards
not doubt it was busch league.fran's trying to make himself look good so he can get back to coaching at a bcs level school.with that said im very impressed with the strides tx state has made this year.hopefully lamar can do the same in the coming years.
