Guest CardinalClaw
I say start him, like coachacola said he needs to get game experience before we go into next season.
Bearkat 41
You might as well start JJ. There is nothing to lose from starting him. The season is the second for a fledgling program and getting the future prepared for next year is a good thing. If he takes some hits its not a huge deal, its college football. SOunds like he's a good player and experience will only make him better. IMO, the only game Bevil should start for the remainder of the year is on Senior day. Honestly, Bevil has done some nice things for LU and he has gone out there and played hard for the Cardinals. Benching him in favor of JJ would not be a demotion in my opinion, but a good move for the future. Again, its college football, and sometimes the realities of the decisions coaches have to make suck for one guy, but it helps the team int he long run. Even if he doesn't start, I think you'll see more of him for the rest of the year.

AggiesAreWe
I say start Bevil for the homecoming game but get JJ some snaps sometime during the game. If the same situation happens this game as the last, then I say start Jeremy the next week at Sam.

Give Johnson some reps at least, especially if Bevil isn't the spark he was at SE Louisiana. He replicates the electricity then start him at Sam. coachacola
SLU is a terrible defensive team, that's why Bevil looked so good. If a team has a decent defense then he begins to struggle. But one big difference between this year and last year is that he's really cut down on the interceptions. By starting Jeremy we'll probably see more turnovers, but that's the risk you take with his playmaking abilities.
Guest Lefty3162
I dont think you have a choice anymore.Bevil obviously has talent or he would not be playing college ball, but when JJ plays QB it seems like the level of intensity goes up. Bevil has talent, I think for some reason or another though he gets greedy with the ball, he wants to throw the long pass more than when it's going to be there. Our offense stalled out so many times in the first half because there was at least 1 long pass and 1 run for no gain on every possession. That gave us 1 play to convert for a first down before we stalled out. This was why our defense was on the field almost the entire first half. I know we have been giving Woodard's defense alot of blame (I believe some of it is very justified too) but the offense hasn't been helping them out in some of these losses. Austin Card
How about starting JJ and if he is not getting it done bring Bevil back in. Its time for something new. We have a good team, we just need a spark and a leader. Not to mention an exciting player like Johnson can only help get more fans in their seats and out of the parking lot. I don't see how there is anything to lose, and I'm not ready to give up on this season just yet. We are 1-1 in conference, far from out of it. PECK EM! Guest boomer
Bevil is the leader of the team. How much does that measure in this change. There is a law as common as any ever proven "The second string QB is always the most popular player on the team." JJ will be the man but give him time to take advantage of learning from a senior LEADER. Ask Aaron Rodgers if waiting your turn is worth it. Coach Brown said yesterday on the radio show that JJ has all the talent in the world, lets give him a chance to harness the whole experience of being the QB. We have him four years!
