Lamar up 31-0 at the half. Cards scored on five of six first half possessions. Freshman quarterback Chandler came in to lead the Cards on the final possession of the half and led the drive for a fourth touchdown.
Started listening to the radio broadcast at halftime and into the 3rd quarter. Just had a methodical drive, mostly Chaz Ward, driving in for another TD. Harold Mann has said several times that it is a nice crowd for a Thursday night. I am guessing that it might be maybe 5k in attendance, which would be a good crowd considering the opponent and it being a Thursday.

North American gets on the board with a field goal with 6:01 left in the game. Lamar playing mostly third string on defense.

Final score. Lamar 47- North American 3. Lamar finished with 243 yards rushing on 54 attempts and 194 passing on 14 attempts. I know attempt wise that's not the balance that Puddin and other would like to see, but it did include two 40+ yard TD passes.

Mark me down as unimpressed.
I was impressed as Lamar could have beat North American by 80 but Coach Morgan played most of the roster and 11 players ran the ball at least once.

Well, the 1st one is in the books and we now go to the Alamodome to play UTSA. UTSA just beat Illinois on the road, a week after the Illini beat Nebraska.

Not sure how this game pans out, big concern is talent - UTSA is faster and bigger than we are and not sure NAU was a real indication of anything.
