A big 12 DC even if he wasn't with a great team sounds like a huge step up from not having a full time DC last year. Quote
coachacola Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Here's some info on Bill Bradley that I posted in the earlier thread: He's worked with Wade Phillips in the NFL: More info: http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/nfl/110107-bill-bradley-would-like-to-join-texans His bio from his days at Baylor: http://www.baylorbears.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/bradley_bill00.html I think Woodard has realized he needs some experienced coaches on his staff. coachacola Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Here's what Bob West has to say about Bill Bradley: Although he won’t confirm or deny it, my sources say Lamar football coach Ray Woodard is about to drop a coaching bombshell of sorts by adding one of legendary figures of Texas football to his staff. Expect Woodard to announce sometime in the next week or so that Bill Bradley, aka Super Bill Bradley of University of Texas lore, is coming to Lamar as a defensive assistant. Bradley went to UT out of Palestine High School in 1965 as one of the nation’s most highly recruited QBs, eventually got bumped to defensive back by James Street, was part of UT’s 1968 national champions and became a two-time All-Pro DB with the Philadelphia Eagles. His coaching career has included stints as a defensive backs coach with Buffalo, the NY Jets and San Diego Chargers in the NFL, and as defensive coordinator at Baylor from 2004 through 2006. Hiring Bradley will be a huge deal for Woodard and Lamar . . Link: http://panews.com/sportsbobwest/x1457644625/Super-Bill-Bradley-is-about-to-join-LU-football-staff Quote

Hopefully Woodard gets all the pieces to the coaching puzzle put together soon. I'm really interested to see how spring camp goes for this group. Quote

coachacola Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I think you have to give Woodard credit for bringing in two experienced coaches in Bradley and McKnight to help fix the biggest problems with the team. Both these guys have been coaching for a while at both the FBS and professional level. We should see significant improvement in the defense, offensive line and special teams because of their coaching and better talent. Quote

Not so sure I would say we'll see better talent, but we should see some improvement in defensive discipline and offensive line play. Quote
