Once the bleeding stopped long enough to clear the wound, quarterback Ryan Mossakowski gritted his teeth as the first stitch entered the side of his nose.

 

Just moments earlier, before halftime, a defender knocked Mossakowski's helmet form his head and tore a nostril up from the bottom.

 

The pain was obvious. But Mossakowski insisted he stay in the game.

 

"It was sliced open," said Mark Howard, Mossakowski's head coach at Frisco Centennial High School.

 

The team doctor stitched up Mossakowski's nose during halftime, and he finished the game.

 

Clearly, the 6-foot-4 Mossakowski wants to be on the field. That's why he's at Lamar.
