Could be an interesting game. Commerce played a lot of decent to good D-1 opponents in the non-conference. Currently sitting at 2-2 in conference.
Lamar jumps out to the early lead but Commerce fights back and has a two-point lead after the first quarter 18-16.
Commerce has a strong second quarter taking a twelve-point lead into the half. Lamar guards are shooting very poorly overall. The Cards are 0-6 from beyond the arc and the guards aren't shooting well from mid-range either. The only place Lamar is scoring from is in the paint where Davis is 5-6. Conversely Commerce is shooting 6-10 beyond the arc.
Lamar cuts the lead to five heading into the fourth quarter.
Lamar cuts into the lead in the third quarter and at the end of three Commerce remains up by five, 54-49. Lamar played better defense with more energy in the third quarter.
Ladies make a strong comeback effort but are unable to get over the hump and wind up falling 73-70.
Can not continue to get off to slow starts. It caught up to them tonight.
