coachacola Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 As the midway point of spring football practice approaches, Lamar University head coach Ray Woodard is pleased with the progress his players and coaching staff have made. Lamar lost 23 letterwinners, including 12 starters, from last year's team. The Cardinals have several familiar faces, but are also adding several newcomers. Add to that the fact that there are a handful of new additions to the coaching staff, and this spring will be key to the success of the football program. "We have just been progressing and adding to what we already put in," said Woodard about the spring workouts. "We have 15 practices to get everything we want to get in, and so we're slowly but surely building. I really like the way we're working." coachacola Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 Looks like Chris Dabe is at spring practices today. Here's a few of his tweets so far: WO-S coach Cornel Thompson & two assistants, and Navarro coach Brian Mayper on hand for today's Lamar football practice/scrimmage. Former Lamar WR Marcus Jackson will visit Jacksonville next Monday & Tuesday. Said combine last weekend in DET went well. Jackson said Jags invited him after Lamar pro day last wk showed he is healthy after ankle injury slowed him last season, he said. Quote
