hit modify instead of quote. :)

When you're trying to get games that late in the process you can't eliminate any options.

Agree with you Mike but this kind of sucks! I was hoping to quit playing sub DI schools.

Well, for one a sub DI's are not going to the Cardinals ready to play teams in the SLC like McNeese, SFA and SHSU. You might add UCA to that list!

As a FCS team they are going to have a hard time finding all FCS opponents if they want 6 home games a year. With only 8 teams in the conference teams they could only have 3 home conference games every other year. I think they would have to give up a home game if they don't want sub-D1 schools.

Maybe this is something that will push Lamar to go FBS. Let's say they are in the Sun Belt with 12 football schools. That's 8 conference games. another home and home series against a FBS school, and 1 FCS team. That would attract more fans and probably be easier to schedule.

Regardless of what classification we are playing in. We need to play teams on our same level if we want to compete on that level.

Also in order to get into the FCS playoffs we need X amount of Division I wins.

There is no good excuse to play more than 1 sub DI team a year and really we shouldn't play any. We've known we were going to have a football team for almost 6 years now. We should schedule multiple years in advance so that we can insure we will get good games. Home and homes with other FCS teams is the best way to go.
