coachacola Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 From the Beaumont Enterprise: Johnson, who will be a redshirt sophomore in the fall, is eligible to play only one season at Blinn, meaning he will transfer to a fourth school in four years if he continues playing college football after 2012. Johnson's father declined to talk about what position his son might play for Blinn. Guest CardAmbassador Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 If he plays anything other than QB we will know he really didn't want to be here. He could have easily switched positions and probably started. Quote

He probably thought he would step in as QB at Lamar without any problems, but it didn't work out that way so now he's off to Blinn. He wants to be a QB so I can't blame him for that, but it sounds like he may have no choice but to switch positions. I bet he ends up at a FBS school playing a different position. Quote
Guest CardAmbassador Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I bet he ends up at a FBS school playing a different position. This would be my guess too. He could develop into a decent passer in JUCO, but considering he had such a great work ethic here yet failed to own the QB position means I highly doubt he will get picked up as a 2 year QB anywhere. More likely he will have to switch positions. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 With Jeremy only getting one year to play at Blinn, it's most likely he will switch positions unless he is able to beat out the current QB, which I wouldn't be surprised if that happened. I wish him all the success in fulfilling his dreams as a college football player. Quote
Guest LU 17 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I really hated to see him leave. He is so athletic. But if he doesn't see his future here then he should go. I wonder if he had an option at LU? You can be a back up at QB or start at WR. He is a great player, but he is gone. Good luck to him and I hope when it's over he is satisfied with his decision. We will find a QB that wants to play here. We will also find some WR's that want to play here. We have a good thing going at LU. Quote
Davis Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Extremely disappointed to hear that he is now open to playing another position at Blinn if he doesn't play at QB... From folks I've talked to, Woodard had plans on making Johnson the most dangerous offensive weapon in the Southland Conference and had all kinds of offensive schemes ready to make sure the ball touched his hands. He blew a major opportunity to be something special and to play in an offense that was going to highlight him. Instead he's going to Blinn where he thinks he's going to be the next Cam Newton. Wrong. I wish the kid the best of luck and would like to see him start getting better advice moving forward. He's not a pocket passer, he struggles reading defenses. He's now had two schools - one at both the BCS and FCS level - tell him he'll excel at another position besides quarterback. I admire persistence, but ignorance is a mother too. On a side note, check out the Chuck Langston story at http://www.theexaminer.com - Lamar has one hell of a coaching mind on their staff. Quote
Guest NorthoftheBorder Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 AAW what is the reason that you know that Jeremy left? Is it the position issue? If Davis is correct, then he could have had a great carreer at LU and beyond because he possesses what you can't teach, and that is speed and elusiveness. That could help him excel on the field. Guest bigred360 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I wish the guy the best but to reach the next level (NFL) he has to switch positions and let's wait and see how he does. Is he though enough to go across the middle of the field and reach up and expose himself to getting drilled by a LB or FS. You can't just have speed. I remember Dallas signed a guy that ran a 4.2 forty but he just wasn't a football player. Quote
