Incoming Freshmen closer to arriving

Featured Replies

Matt Bergeron will arrive on campus next week.

I was told by a close family member that after a hard off-season of workouts with a D1 training facility and numerous phone contact with current LU QB's Ryan Mossakowski and Caleb Berry that he's packing up and heading to Beaumont next week. He'll be rooming with Mossakowski in July classes begin.

Good luck Matt and we look forward to covering you for the next 4-5 years.

So I added him on Facebook right after signing day.

This guy is as pumped as can be about getting to campus and wearing the Red and White, I really like seeing that. None of the other recruits I've followed (and I've followed several) have been as enthusiastic as Matt. I think just his presence in the lockeroom and on the sideline alone will be a big positive impact on our team.

Just spoke to Alex Ball who said that he'll arrive on campus July 5th and he'll be rooming with Garrett Drake. He said that he's very excited to get moving and can't wait for the season to begin.

Made contact with both Michael Handy and Michael Hargis tonight.

Handy said he'll be here in July and that he's very excited and ready to take on the responsibility that his parents have prepared him for. He's also ready to live the college life and explore new things.

Hargis said he'll be coming in next week and moving into his dorm on June 5th and he hopes it's in Campbell Hall. He said he's extremely excited to just start the next chapter of his life. He's ready to get a great education and play some hardcore football.

Just heard from Gee Gladney who said he'll be here the second session of summer school and that he's ready to just get here and work as hard as he can to help the team. He'll be staying in one of the dorms his first year.
Has anyone heard when Cam Washington will be on campus???

Awesome I think Waters will be a beast on the defensive side of the ball! Glad he made it!

Cam Washington is the other main concern now.

I agree on Darryl Waters...he looks good. I hope his appeal works out. I thought Cam was cleared to play.

Your right I remember that thread, big question now. Which of these fish RBs step in and play right away.

I'm looking forward to all the new recruits getting on campus but the QB Matt Bergeron is a impressive young man and I think he is going to be an excellent QB in the SLC oneday and he has the leadership qualities you want out of someone in the position.
In coming OLB Michael W. Hargis II I here check in for summer school and is suppose to start working out today, I hearing.... ? 8)

Neat, I wonder how many of this freshman class are going to be here for the summer I session.

Hargis posted on his FB yesterday that he already had his first day of class.

Thanks for joining... :)

I hear that Hargis has put some size on since coming down for the spring game 6'4 228 looks to be ready to hit the field running, get way to come on board hope the whole incoming 2012 class has that type of work ethic upon hitting the campus...next month... 8)

When he signed back in February he was listed at 6'3 220. I bet Hargis sees a lot of playing time as a freshman.

Yeah, I think your right I spoke to a friend down from where he played his HS ball and he said he made all the last three yes and 2 of the 3 years he played in a (3-4) def like coach Bradley is putting in for the cards this season he said Hargis played Strong Safety along with OLB all season and made ALL District at both.... help that the learning curve is a quick one he said he's a smart kid N.H.H.S. and in top 10% of his class I was told.... 8)

Anybody heard how these freshman are doing, the once that have already come in?
OL Brock Wempa will report july 10th
Y'all said bergeron was coming in correct? Mike do you know how he's fitting in so far?

I follow Gee Gladney and Garrett Baxley on twitter and both sound very enthusiastic about starting the season. Gladney is starting class in July as well as Baxley. I believe Baxley has already moved to The beaumont area.

I am glad to see all the freshman reporting early. In my day no freshman came in early. Being on campus early can only help these guys...between the weights, running and a meal plan these guys can really help themselves get on the field. I'm sure the coaches can appreciate guys reporting early and getting into the program.
