Why has nobody mentioned this guy? He's a QB and punter from Hyde Park Baptist HS in Austin.

His profile: http://www.cpotx.com/profiles/profile_public.php?id=22495

His signing: http://www.hpbs.org/pages/page.asp?page_id=216715

He's 6-1, 200 pounds. Says he's friends with fellow recruit Michael Hargis from Monor (outside of Austin).

Do we nee another QB. Yeah I know, we can never have enough QB's. We are good at punter. We had a strong punter. He is very consistent.

not going to lie kind of scratching my head here too. Where is all this scholarship money coming from?

I'm confused.

We have 1 punter. I'm sure he was signed as a punter. He might gets some reps at QB but probably scout team. He didn't have a QB offer out of high school. I heard he is a helluva punter. Remember in spring one guy did all the punting.

Mike, thanks for clearing that up as I was concerned about the scholarship issue along with others. Obviously if he is a walkon QB at the FCS level he is a project for the future and will probably redshirt as a freshman...

This is beginning to make morse sense now. Walk on for now and give him his scholarship next year. If he was that good of a punter, he would have probably already been signed. Good solid walk ons are essential for depth. Let the staff coach him up and give him the preperation to contribute. This could be a really good move.
